I just got my first Mac and I absolutely love it. I wasn't sure if I'd like it but my wife said that I would. Anyway, I went for the MacBook Pro and glad I did!
That's Apple for you, always trying to squeeze more style out of something than substance. But hey, that's how marketing works. You've got this fancy looking laptop that gives you some bragging rights but you're limited by its usability and practicality. You wanna install a new program? Sorry, you're gonna have to look for another Mac that has the Remote Disc program first and run the installation CD there before you can wirelessly access it with your MacBook Air? I guess Greenpeace considers running two PCs instead of one to install a program is safer for the environment. Go figure...
I just ordered my first *purchased* Mac. I used an old PowerBook from our school district, and it was ok. But I'm going to college and got a MB - I CAN'T WAIT!!! Plus I got the free iPod touch with it. I love using the Mac.
Me too planning to get a MAC pro.
No AIR for me please. AIR just doesn't seem to qualify with the high end requirements which I have.
I finished my engg. a couple of weeks back and I badly need a laptop to get going now and as always it has to be a MAC to help me out..
Both are cool!!
But I would love to have MacBook.

LOL that is so funny. The Macbook air isn't that much thinner than the other.
I would go for whichever is cheaper.

The air is an awesome concept, however for my purpose of use, it would not be convenient for me with no cd/dvd drive...
I watch a lot of movies on the go...I was unaware of the issues with installing new programs though....
