Make XP Look Like Vista

If you are still a Windows XP user like me, you should definitely check out this cool free software called Vistamizer, which can make your XP look like Vista. While there has been quite some negative comments about Windows Vista since its release last year, one thing for sure is the new graphical interface of Vista is really cool.. a lot cooler than Windows XP. So in order to make XP look like Vista, I use this cool stuff called Vistamizer. This cool software will modifies your system files, and totally convert your system into the cool Vista GUI. You will not remember how your old desktop looks like after installing Vistamizer. The good thing about this software is that it will backup all the changes that have been made to your system, so you can easily revert it back to the original system setting.

I installed Vistamizer on my Windows XP few days back, and have no complaint on it so far. It's stable, and does not affect the system performance. My friend actually thought that I have upgraded to Vista when I show them my new desktop :P. A great software to make XP look like Vista.

yeah vista sux...but this is cool, I have xp and wouldn't get vista if vista was spitting out $10 dollar bills from my disk drive.

nice. now do you have something that will turn vista back into xp for those of use who upgraded pre-maturely? ;)

thanks, I was looking for such software.

In my opinion, vista needs a lot of improvements to be able to compete with xp, especially on performance. Personally i'll stick with xp for the moment.

I myself wanted to install vista on my computer but I was not able to because of low configuration. Than one day I found software on the internet with the help of which my windows start looking like vista. It’s amazing.

Yikes. I don't ever want to catch the Vista virus. Even looking like Vista scares me.

I have heard that transformer like this have some hidden maul ware or spyware in there.. Are they really safe to use?

Run Ubuntu, compiz-fusion! I did do a vista transformation with the Neowin hack, and a real nice/basic Vista theme, can't remember what it was. Then I used a real light StylesXP just for window decorations...

still not control like compiz-fusion! Although I still think the last implementations of beryl are still better than compiz-fusion...

Yeah Linux has got it!

dude they need to take vista to a leper community and drop some napalm on the island.

but yeah I'd rather have xp

why need vista?
XP 100% way better than vista
:S

Make XP look like Vista is a great idea. A user can learn how to navigate Vista, while still using XP.

That will be a big help for us users who will use XP until Microsoft stops supporting it.

Thanks.

I've heard of softwares that can do this ever since Vista was first released but I've never heard of Vistamizer before.

Get a Mac and I guarantee you won't look back! :)

I'm using both Vista and XP on 2 separate machines and I still like XP over Vista at this time. Too many of my games don't run on Vista.

How easy/time consuming/buggy is it to toggle back and forth between Vista look and XP look?
Last week I installed IE 7 after being convinced that I could go back to IE 6 no problem if I didn't like it ( I didn't) .. and after doing so my IE was rendered pretty much useless.
I am reluctant to change but do like the Vista graphic...

There's also Vista Transformation Pact 7 that changes XP’s interface, including the Start menu, the Control Panel, system dialogs, icons, and more, to Vista style. Also includes a transparency function to mimic Vista’s Aero Glass functionality. It’s probably the most comprehensive package out of all, so be very careful with it.

Vista Transofrmation Pact Version 8 was released at Nov 28. It’s seems to be better and much more stable.

* Boot screen / Welcome Screen / Logon Screen.
* New desktop, file and toolbar icons.
* Progress Dialogs.
* New System Tray icons.
* New Sounds scheme.
* New interface visual styles.

Thx for the cool software. Now i can change my xp to look like vista then buying it which cause problem.

I really despise windows vista. It simply bogs down systems and will eat every bit of ram you can through at it. Why would someone want to move over to a new buggy operating system when the old one works fine is beyond me.

Using vista transformation program can make your computer slow. But thanks for this article

I had a windows vista theme which was ok, but after i reinstalled my windows wouldn't work any more even though i placed it again in the themes folder. But this one seems way cooler!

Isn't there something about shallow, a bit needy, about making something inferior (or at least older), look like something better, or new?

I'm reminded of those skins you can get for the N95 and what have you that make it 'look' like an iPhone.

Why not just buy an iPhone? Or install Vista? ;)

Yes it might look like Vista but lets hope it doesn't work like VISTA.
Microsoft really excelled themselves when they produced that bunch of cra* .

The outlook is bleak if every time they produce more software it has more bugs than a bug farm (if there is such a thing). It's not getting house room in my office any time soon.

I don't have much of a problem with Vista.

Anonymous said...

Thanks, I was looking for something like that. You did not mention how the software is on resources? does it take too much RAM? will 512 MB be enough?

Anonymous said...

Does this slow down the system or does XP performance stay the same.

Good Job! :)

Some people are waiting for the time to buy a new PC, some are not upgrading because their hardware isn't up to it, and some well.....just don't want to. Well there's nothing wrong with wanting to stick with XP for a while, but maybe you would like to change the "look" of XP to more of a Vista "style".

The interest in making Windows XP look like Vista has been going on for a while, but I get asked to this day what are the best ways to change the desktop to look more like Vista. Some want just the visual style changed, and some want the entire look and feel of their desktop changed to reflect Vista.......

Try Vistamiser Now><<<><<
